Laura Castles is a compassionate and highly experienced Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Harbour Wellness Healthcare. A proud Norfolk County native, she understands the unique healthcare challenges faced by the local community. Since beginning her nursing career in 2017 and advancing to Nurse Practitioner in 2021, Laura has delivered personalized care tailored to each patient’s needs. Her clinical expertise includes primary care for all ages, women’s health, menopause support, mental health care, dermatology, and preventative care. Known for her warm, approachable, and evidence-informed style, Laura creates a safe and supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered.

Payment
Nurse Practitioners are not currently covered through OHIP billing, so at this time Harbour Wellness operates on private billing. You will pay for our consultation time, but any labs or imaging would still
be covered by OHIP. Medication coverage depends on your insurance plan.
Receipts and any necessary information required for submission to your insurance will be provided. No direct submissions available at this time.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse with advanced university education who provides personalized, quality health care to patients. Ontario Nurse Practitioners provide a full range of health care services to individuals, families and communities in a variety of settings including hospitals and community based clinics (Nurse Practitioner Association of Ontario).

In Ontario, Nurse Practitioners are authorized to: ​

Complete a comprehensive health history and assessment

Formulate and communicate a diagnosis, taking a differenial diagnosis into consideration

Prescribe all medications including controlled drugs and substances

Dispense, sell, and compound medications

Set and Cast fractures and dislocated joints

Order and interpret all laboratory tests

Admit, treat and discharge patients from hospitals

Order some diagnostic imaging ​
