No. You can book a mental health appointment directly with one of our Nurse Practitioners.
Can a Nurse Practitioner diagnose mental health conditions?
Yes. Nurse Practitioners in Ontario are qualified to assess, diagnose, and manage many common mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
Can a Nurse Practitioner prescribe medication?
Yes. If medication is appropriate as part of your treatment plan, your Nurse Practitioner can prescribe and monitor it while providing ongoing follow-up and support.
Will I be referred to a counsellor?
Some patients benefit from counselling or psychotherapy in addition to medical care. If appropriate, we'll discuss referral options and help connect you with trusted mental health professionals.
Are appointments confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is protected, and all appointments are conducted in accordance with Ontario privacy legislation and professional standards.
